For the past few months, we have been reshaping SparePartsKnowHow.com around a simple idea:
People responsible for spare parts need more than another course. They need practical access to the right expertise, at the point where they are making decisions.
That work has now reached an important milestone.
The Operations Playbook and Practitioner Playbook are now open, completing our new three-Playbook structure.
This is more than the launch of two new products.
It completes our transition from a collection of online courses into a structured spare parts decision-support platform.
The three Playbooks are not simply basic, intermediate and advanced versions of the same material. Each has a different role.
The Foundations Playbook
Foundations is for people who need to understand why spare parts are different from other types of inventory.
It introduces the principles that sit behind better spare parts decisions, including criticality, demand patterns, lead times, stocking decisions and the consequences of equipment downtime.
Its purpose is to develop understanding, improve decision quality and provide a common language for people working across maintenance, engineering, procurement, stores, supply chain and finance.
The Operations Playbook
Operations moves beyond individual stocking decisions and into the systems, processes and disciplines that determine how spare parts are managed across an organization.
It addresses areas such as:
• spare parts inventory optimization;
• policies, metrics and decision control;
• inventory and storeroom data accuracy;
• storeroom operations and physical management;
• repairable spare parts;
• implementation and continuous improvement.
The Operations Playbook is for people who want to improve the way spare parts management actually works—not just understand the theory.
The Practitioner Playbook
Practitioner is designed for people actively applying spare parts management methods in their work.
It brings together access to the Foundations and Operations content with practical tools, calculators, assessments, templates, special reports and an extensive reference library.
Unlike a conventional course, Practitioner is not something that must be completed from beginning to end.
It is a working resource.
You can return whenever you need to calculate a reorder point, assess a criticality decision, review an optimization opportunity, develop a policy or find guidance on a specific problem.
There is also a pathway to Expert Advisory Support when a question requires more direct input.
That depends on the problem you are trying to solve.
- Choose Foundations when you need stronger understanding and better decision-making.
- Choose Operations when you need to improve policies, processes, controls and operational capability.
- Choose Practitioner when you are actively doing the work and want continuing access to tools, information and expert resources.
You do not need to consume everything at once.
The Playbooks are designed to provide practical access to focused expertise, allowing you to work through structured content or go directly to the guidance you need.
The complete SparePartsKnowHow.com Playbook platform is now open.
